Once again AltDaily.com has hit me up for illustrations that feature many of the characters from Pulp Fiction. Here is a link to check out the full guide. I wish I could be there for it!

Tango Storm CD Art

2010 September 11
by Seth

Yesterday I got a cd in the mail from former co-worker/friend Katherine Byrd. It’s the first time my art has been featured on a CD cover! Sweet! And other co-worker/friend Mike Doyle did the design. I could jump for joy like the guy  on the right. Here is the site for the band. Above is the cd and the original art I created.

Elmo’s

by Seth

If you ever get the chance while you are in the Triangle, you should try to have brunch/lunch at Elmo’s Diner. The one seen here is on 9th Street near Duke. Easy to park, eat, and work off the massive pancakes by walking down the street full of cool mom-and-pop shops. We love it.

Destro Cones

by Seth

Inspired by this cool artist Kevin Cyr who is selling prints on 20×200 I wanted to come up with my own ice cream truck in homage to one of the great villains, Destro. I am convinced in this day and age he would play more of an anti-hero. I am trying to diversify and re-energize my portfolio in this evolved gritty style so more work should be up soon. As well as an overdue website change to more of a portfolio.

Gritty new style…

by Seth

So after many days/months/years experimenting and learning about gradients and textures I have updated my style. Check out 2 of many future samples. Both evolved from older illustrations. Instead of straight Illustrator images now I go into PhotoShop and add the textures for shading and overall effect. It takes extra time but I really like the feel- what do you think? I am excited to share some architecture/city scenes soon too!

Haynesworth vs Shanahan

2010 August 5
by Seth

Another day, another Haynesworth update. I feel bad for the media who have to cover the Redskins practice. He has now missed 13 practice sessions since training camp started. I understand if he is hurt but it feels like he is really dragging it out now. It’s such a joke that he couldn’t pass his shuttle test that overweight and out of shape media folks on the local and national level have decided to take on the shuttle themselves. That or the media is that bored. And the Favre “will he or won’t he” saga doesn’t make things any better, but I guess it distracts from Haynesworth’s BS.

California Gay Marriage

2010 August 4
by Seth

This is a happy day for gay people who want to get married. If I am allowed to marry my lovely wife then who am I to tell  a someone else whether or not they can get married? I know this fight isn’t over but at least it’s a good step in the right direction.

From CNN-
“A federal judge in California on Wednesday knocked down the state’s ban on same-sex marriage, ruling that voter-approved Proposition 8 violates the U.S. Constitution — handing supporters of gay rights a major victory in a case that almost all sides say is sure to wind up before the U.S. Supreme Court.”

Celebretools

2010 August 4
by Seth

Another cartoon about the 757. This one centers around recently recalled Ex Mayor James Holley who had his assistant do personal tasks for him on the cities dime. The sad thing is that this happens everywhere in the country but rarely gets noticed. I really hate elitism and those who choose to take advantage of their position. Yes you worked hard and got somewhere but you aren’t better then your workers. Man I probably come off as a socialist. I just hate elitists. And Pat Robertson.

Today Lindsey Lohan starts her stint in jail! Lohan was ordered to serve 90 days in jail for missing alcohol counseling sessions in violation of her probation. Mop that floor good, girl!

Breakfast Club

This movie proves a small (but great) cast, small budget and amazing plot can great a classic.
